Small thing, they have a month to answer to you, otherwise they are violating the GDPR. Certainly if only a few people ask their data deletion and they don’t answer to them, they won’t risk anything, but if a lot of people do they might get in trouble

If I read correctly their fine print they have 45 + 45 days to respond. Rest assured they’ll take their time.

On the other hand I don’t think you’re the only one requesting either deletion or a GDPR archive right now so summer break might be slightly postponed or crunched for some people up there. Just a wild guess but still.

Might actually do this. Tried to delete/edit all my posts with PDS, but reddit keeps reading them.

        Thank you! You’re awesome!

Now every European user spam this e-mail to Reddit when they want to delete their Reddit account in full…

        Muhahaha!

Thanks a lot. I’m honestly getting tired of having reddit undelete my data over and over again despite me having a European ip address and running PDS every time I find out they reset everything.

My guess is they will ask for some kind of ID. Does it count as personal information if the account is anonymous and doesn’t require an email address?

I’m currently living in a third world country that happens to have a law similar to the EU’s GDPR. Can I actually exercise my third world rights just like you do in the EU?

You don’t need to be in the EU to exercise rights under GDPR. Any entity that wants to interact with the EU needs to comply regardless of where in the world it exists.

I don’t know your local laws, but I imagine it is a similar scenario. All this means if you can’t make use of your local laws, you can do the same as OP and use GDPR (even though you are not necessarily an EU country)

I spent FAR too long trying to figure out why you misspelled “eurepe” and why you were trying to send Reddit things to the “presentive”. I have not had my coffee yet.

Honestly I hope not that many people do this. I get that it feels good to stick it to reddit and we don’t like them profiting off of our content, but there is SO MUCH good information/help that we have sitting on reddit that you just can’t find anywhere else.

I can’t tell you how many times I solved a problem by finding a slightly related reddit comment that I couldn’t find an answer for anywhere else. Going to be sad times when we can’t do that anymore :(
