Wayland breaking screen recorders, snipping tools etc is endemic. You come up to them with a desktop viewport sharing tool used by tens of millions, they tell you they won’t support it because it’s a security risk
They take years of camping on their positions only to add a side API to replace what was already there, breaking compatibility, meanwhile Android has fixed those issues with permissions right when the problems rose up and kept the old APIs.
I have no problem with gnome 3 Wayland mode… but if I did I would just use xorg instead…
