Biden gave a speech this morning condemning the university antiwar protesters. He calls them violent and says that they are protesting illegally.

He stated there must be a right to assembly and freedom of speech. Yet when he’s put in a similar situation, it’s no different. The US is accelerating their decline to further line the pockets of the ruling class. It’s legitimately horrendous!
In moments like this, there are always those who rush in to score political points. But this isn’t a moment for politics.

To them this hypocrisy is nuance, but to anyone with clear historical vision and class consciousness it’s just hypocrisy and a clear sign of how a protofascist develops
Liberals always passively let capitalism decay into fascism, because fascism doesn’t harm the capitalist class. When forced to make a choice between organizing to overthrow the capitalist state and letting it decay into fascism, they will always choose fascism.
The Freikorps in Germany for example that hunted down communists, socialists, and trade unionists were already being trained and funded by the government even before the Nazis had ever come into power.

To summarize, he respects their right to protest and called for nonviolence without citing any side in particular. Notable that there have been violent counter-protestors.
Berkeley has had an encampment on campus since April 22nd and hasn’t sent in the cops.
As always, with protests like this, the violence always begins with cops.
Violence begins with cops or fascist agitators*. So far the students have had the discipline to not retaliate, which is what the violent agitators want.

Peaceful protests have not won anything. The Civil Rights Movement was not peaceful, despite liberal mythology.

The President is condemning violent protest and destruction of property here. It is still disheartening that this hasn’t changed his stance on Israel/Palestine.
