No it fucking isn’t
I heard video killed the radio star.
This article is 40 years late
Really sucks for more technical things, and also when you’re in a situation that doesn’t allow for audio (such as those that are deaf, or when viewing articles at work).
Trying to follow a video tutorial for programming when you could have the code in a syntax highlighted code block that is copyable…
I read (and comprehend) far faster than it takes a typical yt video to get past the intro and sponsor crap.
Paywall.
Disable JavaScript.
Isn’t there just a video we could watch?
Isn’t there just an article I can read faster than the video takes…?
Yeah; just set your article to 2x speed :D
I kid; all this video is going to vanish one day, and the text will remain.
And for most things, text is a highly superior format. Sometimes you need a few images or a video clip to supplement it, but I like to ingest information while my ears are otherwise occupied. I keep my phone and computer muted most of the time. I often watch videos with closed captioning enabled on 2x just to scrub through and find the 10 seconds of actual information in the 15 minute video.
Nah.
I love that this is an article… a text article.
I don’t like change. Videos have a higher priority to pad for ads. Text is…not as subject to that since I can search and scroll faster than jog through the timeline
