Tuesday’s report details firsthand accounts of several Gazans who say they are doing everything they can to protect themselves and their families from becoming human shields for Hamas militants.
Nasser al-Zaanin, for example, was forced to flee his home in northern Gaza in October, and relocated to a school that had been turned into a shelter in the town of Deir al-Balah, along with his adult sons and grandchildren. When al-Zaanin arrived at the shelter, he helped set up a system of committees to improve life for families who had taken refuge by overseeing the distribution of food, water and medical needs. They also established one hard and fast rule: no armed men allowed in the compound.
“All the families agreed,” said al-Zaanin, who once worked as a civil servant for the Palestinian Authority in Gaza. “We simply want to save all families, women and children and not let there be any potential threat against us because of the existence of police and members of the Hamas government.”
Too bad Isreal doesn’t care, and will almost certainly indiscriminately bomb them anyways.
This is a rather significant move on their part. Hamas has a proclivity to quash dissent and the civilians must know what kind of risk this puts them in.

So the article from an Israeli newspaper, says that Palestinians are fleeing their homes to avoid being used as human shields by Hamas? Not because they are being exterminated like vermin by Israel?
If Israel can conduct such a targeted attack on Hizbolah, (asuming that it was indeed israel who did it) it is amazing that they have been so terrible at targeting Hamas among civilian Palestinians

That’s not what the article says. They are fleeing their homes because of the airstrikes and evacuation orders. They are attempting to institute rules in the shelters to keep out Hamas (who have repeatedly infiltrated humanitarian zones in order to continue staging military operations from within humanitarian zones).

That is… Kind of true but not really. Haaretz is (to ky knowledge) a large left-leaning newspaper that does indeed have a generally good track record but they also have multiple instances of matching blatant Israeli propaganda.
Well, it’s good enough to be used by Linkerbaan, breakfastmtn, Dreamer, Silverseren, Keeponstalin, girlfreddy, Sasuke, Collision Resistance, MolotovHalfEmpty, etc.
I know that, but Haaretz = left is only a trend and not a rule that holds 100% of the time. They do good investigative journalism, but they’re also Israeli and affected by the Israeli political climate, which is like… that. This results in them occasionally parroting unproven Israeli propaganda. Cosmicrookie dismissing the article because they’re Israeli is definitely misguided, but the jury is still out on how widespread the phenomenon they’re reporting on is.
