Man, I am so excited to see Lando and the updated McLaren have a great weekend. It looks to have us potentially in the mix with Merc and AM. Psyched to see Oscar get the new car next weekend too.

Being faster than the Merc and keeping tow on the Ferrari was great to see. Silverstone is going to be interesting. Upgrades proved they’re good at high speed; how will they handle with the turns coming into Becketts?.

I noticed all weekend Norris did a lot of deep braking into wider entries. It looked like understeer but snapped in late and powered out fast.

Edit: Oh, not to forget a mention for all the McLaren fans in the crowd sporting papaya shirts and flares. Austria turning it up for McLaren once again. And congrats to that Max guy :P

Maybe for the future use a generic title and have the results table/image attached? Something like “Austria Grand Prix 2023 Results”. Just until we get spoiler tags.

That was class. Not needed at all for the DC, RBR already has the CC and Perez is banking the point, and all it takes is a grumpy lug nut to lose those few extra seconds… “Nah, let’s sweep again.”

Also, hell yeah for Lando’s DotD. Austria giving us awesome racing once again.

Imagine how Charles felt seeing Max come out of the pits and weaving to get heat into the tires. The dominance of RBR in all regards is impressive.

Please don’t spoil the races in the title or picture. Just make a thread like “austria gp discussion”. Everyone who watched it knows the results. Otherwise I’ll have to leave this community I’m afraid.

Spoiling races was the one thing I hoped we would leave with Reddit. I mean, considering the current state of F1 Max winning isn’t really a surprise. That doesn’t make it okay. When/if Lemmy supports Spoiler tags, I hope we can enforce this rules for at least the first 24 hours after a race.

Nah, the argument here is the same as it was before.

Couldn’t watch the race? Stay off of the F1 discussion board until you have watched it

There’s literally nobody adversely affected by spoiler free titles. And the benefits are people don’t have to re-follow - why would not do this?

There’s no “staying off the board” it pops up on your feed when you’re subscribed. It’s like you don’t know how many of this works. The only way to avoid it is to unsubscribe. Which I did.

There were as many 5s penalties as in normal league race in f1 game on RedBull ring with rigorous cutting setting lol

Wow, that was a lot closer than I expected! Leclerc only finished about three seconds behind Verstappen!

I’m going to have to leave this community. Living in the US I watch these races on time delay. If mods are going to spoil races like this in my feed, I’m out.

Some really great racing in the midfield, really highlights to me that the track matters so much for good racing

Too many street tracks so far this year has made it feel a bit of a snoozefest

This track really produces exciting racing. It’s nice to see it’ll be on the calendar until at least 2030.

Can we not do this whole “X wins the race” thing please? Or at the very least use a generic title without spoilers. This shows up in the /all feed and spoils literally everyone who can’t watch the race live. (Even though we kind of know who will win these days)

Spoiler got me too, though I’m lowkey glad redbull are still winning because at round 2-3 I slapped a 19:1 bet on red bull to win every race of the season lol

Great weekend for Norris and glad to see Leclerc on the podium. Max was once again untouchable to the surprise of no one.

Fantastic comeback drive by Perez. Hope it gives him the confidence he’s been lacking as of late.

Also second week without a horrific Ferrari strategy fuckup right? I wonder if that bodes well for them in the future.

Carlos’ car didn’t erupt in flames this time, so that’s a sign of moving in the right direction. His defence on Perez was excellent too. A deserved podium spot for them.
