So one of the benefits of a streaming service is the recommendation algorithm suggesting new shows to you. They’re not perfect but I have discovered great shows in the past because of it. So to replace that I’ve found a great app called JustWatch. It asks you to select what services you’re subscribed to so I just choose all of them, then select what shows I’ve watched and which I liked, and its algorithm suggests new shows to watch. You can also use it to track what episodes you’re up to, which I’m sure is great for people more organised and less ADHD than I am!

Disclaimer - I suspect this app is australian-centric, but there must be other apps out there for your country too.

I use stremio with torrentio addon. It is basically a free streaming service if you have good internet. It also keeps track of the shows and movies you watch between devices and announces you when a new episode airs.

Just Watch is not region locked. I use it here in the Netherlands. If you go traveling you can switch your region to see what is showing regionally.

I started using tv time a few years ago before justwatch started, but sometimes I check it to know If I have to download or it is in the service streaming I am paying for.

Hobi is the best! It doesn’t track movies only tv shows, but I’m using it for years now and it’s such a great app, I bought the premium which is like $10 for life. I can’t recommend it enough

I’ve been on Trakt.tv for a couple of years and nothing but happy. Love the scrobbler for Plex, very useful calendar. Has both recommendations based on what you’ve watched and trending to see what everyone is watching

    A bit pricey

TV Time is the best one I’ve tried so far, apps on iOS and Android + browser access.

I use Reelgood. I think it lacks a little on the recommendation side, but I really like the tracking. It also shows me when shows I’m tracking are coming back for new seasons.
