I wouldn’t be shocked if [[Boros Elite]] or [[Slitherhead]] showed up in some decks. Those seem very cost-efficient.
[[Sprouting Renewal]] is potentially free, but the Sorcery speed probably dooms it.

I could see Sprouting Renewal being a good sideboard piece if Pestilence decks are running around but you’re right that it not being an instant hurts a lot
