Every time I try to use the text link to URL ()[] and go to hit the “ok” button, the entire windows goes away. The work around is to hit the keyboard minimise to uncover the buttons.
Press anywhere but the keyboard and ya loose everything you type.
Another bug is when you try to paste anything in the body it pastes it at the beginning of the body regardless if where in the text you have highlighted.
Sometimes an instance will load but in unable to view comments (can’t remember what it said) you need to clear the app cache to fix the issue
This is about it, otherwise this is my fav Lemmy app around.
Keep up the good work.
Ps before you ask this is the only app I’ve encountered these issues with
Too be clear the popup action button hides below the keyboard?
A refresh or opening the post again doesn’t solve this? Could be just a timeout of the server?
I don’t understand what you mean. So for example if you put your cursor somewhere in the reply/ write comment body and you paste something, it is pasted at the very start instead of at the cursor? If that’s the case I can’t reproduce this. What keyboard do you use?
Thanks for the bug reports
Hey, so I just recorded a video to show you whats going on
Paste in body
Posting Link
Videos are private
Try now, didnt see it was private
What keyboard is that?
Simple Keyboard (Simply keyboard and nothing more) https://f-droid.org/packages/rkr.simplekeyboard.inputmethod/
Just tried 2 other keyboards (gboard & open keyboard) problem persists
Do you do anything specific for this? I can’t seem to reproduce it
No, it’s just always been like this for me
The link issue will hide behind the keyboard if there is enough text to expand downwards.
The pasting in body issue seems to be after starting a new line. Just tried it here and first time pasting it acted normal, pressed enter and it started selecting the first word like in the vids.
It is very perplexing
The link i can easily reproduce, but not the paste bug, when i have some time, I’ll try reproducing it with that keyboard
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):
Paste in body
Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.
I’m open-source; check me out at GitHub.
Hope this helps
It may have been a Lemmy bug but after I cleared the cache I had no issues
I switched between my 3 accts and could only see posts and couldnt reply. So Im not sure but figured you would like to know. Should have taken screen shots
Anyways thanks for the response and keep up the good work
yes, I’ll make an issue for this
When it wouldn’t let you reply, was it showing a toast/msg that u weren’t logged in?
Thanks
Just red/orange text at the top said something along the lines of unable to find comment or something like that. All 3 accts were affected at the time.
Didn’t want to relog all accts so I cleared the cache and it worked
