I finally got done yesterday. The best part is when there are like 6 people standing in a swamp, and finally someone climbs into a bush and you hear the telltale sound, followed by a mad rush and a muttered you are appreciated.

Yeah, I read that the altars will still be revealed for future characters but unless I see one on the screen I probably won’t go out of my way to collect them again.
Ok so maybe I’m wrong on this, by my impression is that once revealed, the bonuses from the altars will be with you forever through seasons and what not? It should not be necessary to revisit the altars.
I have heard that some other elements like your potion capacity for example are also permanently unlocked. But I guess we’ll find out tomorrow!
Pretty sure this is correct. Alters a map discovery is account wide.
Map isn’t for other eternal characters, it may be for seasonal ones.

The bonuses are unlocked for all characters including season characters. It’s a one and done kinda deal
