    Feb 29, 2024 - Leap Year Shave

    • Brush: Trotter Handcrafts Gothic 26mm Manchurian T1
    • Razor: Karve Shaving Co. Overlander
    • Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Stainless (Green) [25]
    • Lather: Highland Springs Soap Company/Australian Private Reserve - Eclipse - Soap
    • Post Shave: Highland Springs Soap Company/Australian Private Reserve - Eclipse - Splash

I’m getting psyched about the upcoming total solar eclipse in North America.

This is still the first blade I’ve used in this razor and I’ve taken it further than any other DE blade. The Overlander continues to impress me.

Hope everyone enjoyed their extra day this year.

    Rating: 4.5/5

    • Brush: Zenith 31mm MOAR BOAR
    • Razor: Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip
    • Blade: Treet Platinum [9]
    • Lather: Stirling - Executive Man - Soap
    • Post Shave: Stirling - Executive Man - Aftershave

Great shave. Very comfortable shave from this razor even though the blades on its last run. This brush is still a big thirsty hog of a unit.

    • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts “Santa Noir” w/Maggard 28mm SHD Badger
    • Razor: EldrormR Industries MM24
    • Blade: Personna GEM PTFE (12)
    • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Piacenza - Soap
    • Post Shave: Pinaud - Clubman Musk - Aftershave
    • Post Shave: House of Mammoth - Mood Indigo - Balm
    • Fragrance: House of Mammoth - Santa Noir - EdP

At first I was going to use a DE today to break my GEM streak (briefly) before another month using GEM… but then I thought “hey, it’d be more fun to use the MM24 today with this old blade, and start a fresh blade tomorrow to see the difference”. So, I did that. Tomorrow I’ll start with a fresh blade. Today was a bit tuggy.

  • Travel Shave II

Good shave, but I 'm extremely tired.

    Have a good evening!

    • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Zenith Boar Brush 31mm × 50mm
    • Razor: Filarmonica 14 Doble Temple (8/8", extra full hollow, carbon steel)
    • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Varen
    • Aftershave: Proraso Balsamo Dopobarba Pelli Sensibili

Repeated the Fili 14, Varen and the Stirling × Zenith brush today today, so I guess I’m sufficiently stuck in time for today’s theme. A rare non second-luxury evening shave for me because I overslept this morning and was forced to live with practically a hobo beard all day. #Sad!

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

    “stuck in the past”

I always forget how good Spiced is. As much as I like the other Seaforth scents that I have, this one, somehow, triggers feelings of nostalgia and takes me way back. I’m certain that if this scent was around in the '60s I would have used it instead of Old Spice as my “goto” aftershave.
