The average lifespan is around 80 years and ⅛ of your entire life is still quite a long time. And that obviously only applies if you are 80. If you are under that it’s even more.
Are you like 90?, 5 - 10 years doesn’t strike me as “future generations”.
I am also able to worry about more than one thing at once, also as a side note this featurebug is “powered by AI”, thus is an energy hog. Which directly affects the climate…

While this is true, in the life of a company, it is not that long.
In reality the “feature” will be rolling out at an increasing rate, the numbers will be growing.
I’m not saying in 5 - 10 years the roll out will start, it already has! In 5 - 10 years it will be default on ALL (windows) computers.
Why should we really care about what software future generations will use?
We have better things to worry about.

If you don’t think ¼ of your life is a quite long time you are delusional.
Unless life itself is short, which is something you realize later in life.
