I know you have a lot going on right now, so I’m gonna cut Kbin a lot of slack. The simple ability to search, view, and subscribe to “magazines” is the best feature. But I have notes:
-
Move OP reply box to the top of the page. Took me forever to figure out how to reply to the OP.
-
Remove pages. Just put it all on one page, please. This just causes unnecessary loading.
-
expand “magazines” to show what instance they are located on.
-
Eliminate the new vocabulary. Nobody knows what a “magazine” is. Nor do they know what is an “article” in this context. The + button should just be “submit new post” and then you should be able to type text, upload media, or post a link from there.
I think there’s a tracker issue for all of these on Codeberg already … it’s just that the backlog went from 15 issues to 380 over night while ernest has been battling with site uptime.
I disagree somewhat. Magazine is just fine. This doesn’t have to conform to Reddit or Lemmy standards. It doesn’t take long to understand and it kinda makes sense.
The article/post thing: Should probably rename the “Microblog” to “Posts” and Threads to “Articles” - that way the naming and placing of those would be consistent in the UI and it would be easy to understand which section the content ends up in.
