You’re good to go.
As long as posts aren’t ads disguised as posts, and it’s EDC related, there’s no problem.
Pocket dumps are nice, not mandatory.

Influence your opinion? Dude, I’m just sharing info. Nothing else
Is this a joke?
FWIW, that’s someone directly saying that their goal is to go out and proselytize.

Leave the politics elsewhere please
Hey, keep it friendly. That’s not in the spirit of civil hobby discussion we look for here
Good news! It works! You can indeed use old backups, and it (so far) works without issue
And it is glorious!
Everything is gorgeous :)
It’s like coming home after a long trip.
I have found a bug though. Logging in to sh.itjust.works seems to cause crashes that other instances don’t (so far). Lemmy.world, ttrpg.network, and sopuli.xyz haven’t crashed at all so far. Haven’t tested any others yet since I want to take a bit to just enjoy the app.
Seriously, Dawson, thank you for this :)
Edit: found a very minor thing in the comment markdown menu. The >!spoiler!< markdown on lemmy is different than reddit uses. The >! Doesn’t work here.
Spoiler is weird on lemmy. It’s

Supposedly. However, it doesn’t actually work at all in most apps.
The reddit >! Works in sync, but not elsewhere.
I dunno, I was up and running in five minutes. You pick an instance, you sign up, you verify the email, and you’re good to go. What server doesn’t matter much, barring it closing unexpectedly and without warning. There’s not enough users to need more than a handful.
Liftoff recognizes more than just lemmy.world.
Go to the bottom right into profile. Upper right in the profile screen you’ll see a settings gear icon. Tap that, then select accounts.
From there, it should be pretty obvious. But, yeah, it would be nice if liftoff had a front facing accounts section like most of the others do. Great app though!
If you still don’t like it, connect and jerboa are currently the most reliable, with thunder being only a tad behind (but otherwise excellent) with tools g or, it was the last I checked yesterday, and I haven’t seen an update for it).
But, all of those support multiple accounts.
Not that you need multiple accounts. You can access all of lemmy and kbin from a single account. You just have to search for the community within an instance, and it’ll get pulled in if it isn’t already. But you have to search the !community@instance, or http://instance/c/community format if it isn’t already showing.
Community discovery can be a bit of a pain at times, but there’s lemmyexplorer that serves as a good source until lemmy itself has more time to develop
Pretty sweet :)
Have you ever seen hedgehogs eat? Now, imagine one that’s starving
Legit, there’s something strangely satisfying in taking a cold hotdog straight from the package, slapping it onto a piece of bread with some condiments and just going down on it like a starved hedgehog.
I was tired of it before they launched it.
You gotta spread the word.
But, being real, it’s going to be slow. The nature of the beast with lemmy/kbin is that there’s a very long discovery process. So, not only do your have to spread awareness of your c/, you have to have those users be active on a lot of other ones, and feel motivated to share links on yours.
There’s the new communities c/ on lemmy.world (I think? Could be lemmy.ml, my brain is fried rn) though. It’s helped me discovery wise. And you can’t be afraid to do a little self hype. Like, when you find something to post on your magazine, tell/ask the person you’re borrowing from that you did so/want to. Provide a link to that bestof post as well.
Yeah, it’s shameless self promotion, but you won’t have to do it long, assuming the lemmy/kbin world stays steady.
Edit: make sure your link is formatted right for jerboa/app use as well.
Define reasonable.
That’s only part joke.
It doesn’t take much. There’s no reports, and nobody has done anything to break rules.
Everything that went wrong with reddit turned me into a passive user. I scroll, but I rarely vote or comment.
Besides, I burnt all the bridges during the protests and by refusing to play nice afterwards. I couldn’t go back if I wanted to, not without jumping through hoops to make a new account and keep it isolated. Fuck reddit, fuck spez. And, fuck r/edc too. I did my best, it wasn’t good enough, so that’s that.
