For mtg I made a commander deck specifically for teaching new players. Put a lot of work into making it approachable, lots of options with clear cause/effect, and a few lucky cards that can pull a win out of nowhere against better decks. It doesn’t have consistency but especially when people aren’t paying attention to the new player it can give some satisfying wins to help keep the newbie excited. People forget that you need someone to be excited or they’re not going to want to play again and you’ve just burnt a future shared interest

I purposefully slightly tilt most my wall hangings. I like watching guests squirm when they mention it and I do nothing

It’s a good thing everyone learned their lessons from the last plague and we are now unanimously on board with various precautions and vaccination. This’ll all blow over in no time

I’ve been setting myself up to move out of country for a few months now. So I’ve been planning since before the election but it used to be “if I make it cool if not I’ll find my path here” and now it’s more “I’m getting out of here with or without a plan”. I know I should want to stay and fight but my body is aging, I’ve been fighting for so long, my trans ass is one of the first on their kill list. My last offer to help the people around me is I’ve got the savings to keep two people alive a couple years so maybe someone I know can escape with me

Sounds space inefficient just add more people instead

Simple solution is to pack enough people in that they can’t move like that

Not exactly legal but it’s pretty common to ask a friend for a couple doses. If you can find a good professional though I’d advise that. You can get a diagnoses and they’ll have you try different meds to see what works well for you

A few months ago I was in Taiwan and accidentally tried stinky tofu. It was pretty good actually! What happened was we were up really early in the morning before the stall’s smell set in and I grabbed a snack. I honestly don’t know if I could eat it with the smell as strong as it gets but maybe if I grabbed some and brought it to a different location it would still work for me

My ex spouse got an app that gave alerts every time there was anything going down in our neighborhood. They went from cautious to walk around at night to “omg we live in a crime riddled hellhole with people being murdered everywhere” and stopped going outside. People now have access to so much information, often explicitly designed to make you fearful, and we suck at statistics

Yeah it’s about the only silver lining of my life right now so I’m latching onto it! I’m pretty excited that it’s even a possibility for me should be interesting if it works out

I made blackberry jam for the first time this year. I saw the suggested sugar to put in and was blown away, used 1/3 of that, it’s still quite sweet

I love fage, mixed with some roughly chopped cherries is so good. I’ve switched to making my own yogurt recently but the original starter I used was fage and it hasn’t let me down

A bit of brown sugar really helps bring a red sauce together and yogurt is good sweet or savory (granted I like my sweet yogurt to just be sweetened with fruit and no pure sugar added but that’s a preference thing)

As per usual in my responses to comments like this, just because it is easy for you to make these things doesn’t mean it is easy or practical for everyone to. From scratch takes longer, requires more knowledge which takes time to acquire, makes more dishes, requires more types of equipment, and in the case of yogurt can be a safety thing

It is on the companies making these products to do better not on the individual seeking to make a part of their life easier

If you’re trans too then add that to the list lol. I got pulled away from the industry for stability reasons but I’m not in that situation anymore. I’ve only ever wanted to be a game dev, as a kid it never occurred to me to be anything else, it still doesn’t. I know I’m not one of those hotshot early twenties devs who cracked into the industry right away, I’m a bit slow to it, but I’ll get there if it kills me
