  • If you still want to use Reddit (yeah it sucks but there’s a little bit of value still), look up how to patch your preferred 3rd party application with Revanced (https://revanced.app/). They also provide tech support in their Discord if you need help (yeah yeah fuck discord). I don’t remember how to do it but it’s been working almost perfectly since last summer, except for one hairy time around October when reddit broke something and the patchers had to issue a new patch.

I use the latest RIF Golden Platinum (v5.6 something?) which you can find on APK sites. It has no ads and I generally think it’s got the best UI out of all the reddit mobile applications. My reddit experience with it gets to be very focused and text-heavy – no shitty awards, no image macros, no bloated UI with tons of empty space, no clutter and bloat.

Notes: NEVER install something that claims it will just download a patched app for you – it could be innocuous, but this is also a known way to spread malware. You need to install the unpatched app, then patch it with Revanced.

NEVER install a patched app that someone says they made to share – it could be innocuous, but this is also how people spread malware.

  • So all the escalations and violence from NATO that preceded the official start of the war don’t count?

If you do a thing that you know is going to lead to war then you’re starting the war. And NATO knew its brinkmanship with Ukraine was very likely to force Russia’s hand – analysts across the political spectrum were screaming it for years trying to sound the alarm. The mistake they made was assuming NATO would care to avoid war.

NATO led Ukraine into war, has fed Ukrainians into the abattoir of Russian artillery, sabotaged peace talks, and just generally clearly gives 0 fucks about Ukrainian lives.

  • Typical capitalist rag trying to trick us into thinking we won so we stop demanding better treatment while giving them what they want.

“Hybrid” isn’t really a win for workers. One of the biggest advantages of remote work right now is that it significantly decreases the risk of getting Covid and Long Covid. Work is a big transmission vector, especially now that liberals have killed mask mandates. Having to go on site 3 days a week means taking on a risk of bringing home a deadly or debilitating disease 3 days a week. This is how a coworker got multiple family members hospitalized with Covid over Christmas break this past winter.

For the most part if a job can be done hybrid, it can and should be done fully remote. Even if there’s a bit more friction or more logistics to work out to make the job remote, it should be remote, because people’s lives matter more than anything those companies can possibly get out of burning us up.
