  • Right?

Dude really got pissed. I remember getting some pirated games from Estonia in the 90’s and Estonia was halfway further to the West than Russia.

In 1996, the N64 was released. Unfortunately it took until the spring of 1997 for my dad to get us one. I fucking loved him for that. The most amazing suprise in my life. It wasn’t a christmas, a birthday, nothing. Dad just got us a N64 as a surprise. Fucking 3D gaming, flying around in Star Wars ships. It was AMAZING. RIP Dad

  • From well kept recycled parts which are labeled? Not much of a challenge.

From DUMPSTER parts? I’d say that’s more impressive, as you need the knowledge and tools to know what works and what doesn’t.

Yeah, sure, given a limitless timeframe, you can sit there until you get lucky enough for someone to drop a completely functioning but disassembled PC on your lap. But building one? You might need to clean parts, research what they are to get the proper drivers and OS even if you manage to find a set that actually fits together. Tracking down and fixing tiny shorts in circuits? That’s not the same skills as putting together some Legos.

I’ve been in IT support in cities and schools and even when there’s a massive pile of computers and hardware that are known to not be broken, it’s sometimes a challenge.

You know how hard it is building a bookshelf? Take a piece of wood. Put book(s) on it. Now you’ve a bookshelf.

  • I used to send a complaint for faulty products to companies in my late teens/early 20’s as I was low on money. Like once I got some energy drink in a bottle made for Pepsi. Same volume, no difference, but a mistake, so got 5€ for it so “won” like 3€ for that. I’d pick out products like that if I saw them in a shop for that very purpose.

Once I genuinely was annoyed though, as a soft drink company that filled the vending machine at our school had filled it wrong and I got what was essentially Fanta he I wanted an energy drink and it was fucking hard waking up that morning.

  • Yeah and even when actors get paid “low sums” it’s usually like six figures still, at least regarding projects like Spy Kids.

And even if it was “just” five figures, if its above 50k and last less than a year to film, it’s more than most people make and the actors who do these aren’t exactly broke to begin with.

Orlando Bloom “only” got 175k for the lotr trilogy.

If someone paid me 175k to fuck about as an elf in New Zealand for 438 days, I’d be willing to suck their dick on the spot. And I don’t generally like sucking dick too much.

For some reason, his general outlook and behaviour doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence that he takes care of his diet, even when it comes down to him theoretically having eaten something else. (Has he, ever? Like “lore-wise.” I don’t watch the Muppets, sorry.)
