Did the page look like everything was enlarged and wouldn’t revert back? If so clearing cache on browser fixes it.
Is there a way to choose to have the post previews show like previous rather than just the post title? Not sure if it’s a bug or a design choice. Hopefully it can be an option in settings.
Yeah exactly. That community will now be federating with the instance you are on so all new content should start to show.
Is this fixed in 0.18? I had a look at the release notes/change log and wasn’t sure whether it would be listed or it’s already been covered.
I hope not but who really knows at this point? I imagine the amount of people following subreddits via rss is really small in the grand scheme of things so hopefully they don’t see a reason to kill them.
I much prefer this approach. Thanks for the update. I’ve seen a lot of comments on other instances where people are wanting the latest updates implemented asap regardless.
Would be cool if there was a way that new comments were highlighted regardless of time. Much like how Apollo does it on Reddit.
I’m not sure if there is an issue with kbin at the moment as I’ve experienced similar today. It’s being discussed on this post here https://lemmy.world/post/456733
I’ve just tried this and it works. If you click the spy glass at the top right and search for the full url https://kbin.social/m/Amsterdam. It may not look like it’s doing anything. Hit search again and then go back to the communities page and just search for Amsterdam. The community should now show. It possibly won’t show any content yet if you are the first person from your instance to subscribe to it.
I’ve been seeing this quite a lot. Not came across a definitive answer but from what I can gather it’s an issue with instances federating comments. I wonder if it’s an issue just now due to the massive growth and the stress on instances. @sunaurus@lemm.ee may be able to offer a better insight.
I’ve been seeing this quite a lot today and it’s also probably because I’m looking out for it. The posts I’ve seen and checked all had comments from users from Beehaw, Lemmy.world, kbin. The comments did not match up between viewing from here (lemm.ee) and the source post. I’m kinda putting it down to all of these instances getting hammered with signups and potential strain on the servers but I’m happy to be told that’s wrong.
I would guess that things will get better, sync faster and more consistent as time goes on.
If anyone has a better or more informed opinion as to why this is happening please comment as I’m trying to get a better understanding of all of this as the days go on.
It looks to be some kind of bug. Even though it shows as pending the communities still show up in my subscribed feed. I guess it’ll sort itself out over time.
True but my login info would be stored in lemmy.world and not my home instance.
