I’d heard of this story and been horrified by it, but the fact that her mother is who found her is new information for me. Just absolutely awful, this poor girl. Heads should roll but this is America so I’m sure at most they’ll settle out of court.

Truthfully that’s a problem, even here. Before we lived in the house with a $700 mortgage we were in apartment that was much smaller than that house that also had a $700 a month rent.
They just put up an apartment complex down the street from my house that charges about 1.5-2x my mortgage payment for monthly rent. I genuinely don’t know how this is even profitable, wages aren’t particularly high in this region (which is of course related to the relatively low COL) so I’m not sure who you get to rent an apartment for that much when median household income is under 40k pre tax. These price fixing landlord vampires are going to put so many people on the street, somebody ought to you know 
That number is shocking to me.
I’m sure it’s just because I live in a much lower cost of living area, but when we moved out of our first home with a mortgage of like $700 a month, into our current home with a mortgage of like $1,000 a month, I was very economically concerned. (To be fair, I grew up getting regularly evicted from housing projects due to nonpayment of rent a lot, so I’m probably more anxious about the topic than is reasonable given my actual material conditions).

Yeah I remember when he was in office, with regards to Syria he said something like “Oh of course we’re over there to do imperialism and steal all the oil. That’s what we’re protecting.”
It was a big scandal, but the truth is he was just being honest, because he is not clever enough to realize that it’s useful to lie in this circumstance.
That’s very good, anything that degrades American plausible deniability, or prestige is good. He’s obviously personally completely reprehensible, but a narcissistic bumbler is exactly who I want to charge of American foreign policy.

I didn’t think they could get me to root for a strike to fail, but here we are.
I think the real reason, originally at least, was plausible deniability.
There was a ton of “look she’s only the vice president, you can’t blame her for Biden’s unwavering support for genocide,” early on.
At this point she’s made it clear that Biden is governing exactly how she would anyways, so I don’t know why they still keep up the charade, maybe inertia? Election is less than a month out anyways.
I don’t recall how long but I do remember he posted this when he was over there:
