  • Ukrainian soldiers are also complaining about lack of ammunition and are fielding. T-55s. While Russia has a much larger geographical and raw resource base to rely on to build new Equipment, Ukraine does not have that luxury (but does have western support). So if Putins statements about increasing production of military equipment 3x-10x are accurate projections, I can see why they still think they can keep going.

  • Not losing much if you get banned, I decided to name-drop Lemmy as well. I encourage everyone to mention it or whatever their favorite fediverse instance is.

It’s time for social media to stop being ran by for profit corporations, it’s just inevitable for them to ruin shit for the sake of slightly increasing quarterly profits

Relay dev said the same thing. It’s like even if I wanted to use Reddit on mobile, I can’t because the main app is literally unusable.

We’ll probably see a lot of traffic to Lemmy by then. Hope the servers are ready to handle an influx.

  • I joined earlier today as well, welcome:)

I agree there is so much noise on Reddit, and just mobs of downvotes and harassment. The slower pace here is breath of fresh air, even with an exodus of people coming, it will be a long time (or never) when it gets as bad as reddit is today.

  • It helps when everyone isn’t just hate reading comments, and want to engage in discussion rather than hoping on the toxic hate trains. I really like that one of the moderation goals here is to have a healthy discussion space. I feel like most subreddits have lost that over the years. I don’t even want to comment most of the time on Reddit, especially to correct someone saying blatantly false shit, just because I know it will be a hail of downvotes and Ill thought out responses.

  • Yeah I’m seeing a lot of communities(?) Being created not even 15hrs ago that I’m subscribing to. It’s too early to tell which ones will work out or be properly moderated, but it’s important to be active in the communities to determine the culture moving forward. Be the change you want to see!
