Lemmy has seen a rapid uptick in client development since the Reddit drama kicked off. I think it’s an absolute net win, and the nature of federated instances and communities means you can always create/find the old school Lemmy environment you miss.
A move away from corporate overlords is an absolute net win.
I recall these kinds of threads on Reddit when Digg was imploding, the OG Reddit hipsters were annoyed at the influx of users and the change it brought to discourse on the platform.
But the fact is, if we want Lemmy to grow, it’s going to change.
I haven’t been back since the blackout, but I’m waiting until July 1st to delete my post and comment history.
You’ve discovered satay food. Satay chicken is awesome.
While I don’t condone the hackers behaviour, I will enjoy some delicious schadenfreude.
Reopen with the new rules: All posts must relate to the golden age of piracy!
@IvanSkooby1, Ukraine didn’t start this war, and Ukraine isn’t the one continuing it. They have to fight or they’ll lose their freedom and self-determination. Look again what happened in Bucha, where Russian forces had control.
Simply rolling over and letting Russia win won’t save Ukrainian lives, it’ll cost a lot more of them.
The only way this war ends is if Russia leaves, or loses. Any alternative goes against everything the USA and the west stand for.
I have to say, Wefwef is a straight up Apollo replacement for me.
