Half a million… Yeah, it’s California, but that’s still crazy.
I did get a chuckle out of “Has view: Yes” 🤣

I would love Andy Beshear to be the VP. He handled the Covid pandemic awesomely in KY and has been doing a lot of things for greener energy / extreme weather responses. Also, he values education and universal preschool. The only thing I fear is that if he does become VP, KY is going to choose a conservative governor that undoes all he has done.
I’m glad their chatbot is at least smarter than themselves.
You’re right; it’s about pee.
Apparently cicadas send a stream of pee instead of droplets like most insects. Scientists studied them since a stream of pee should use more energy at their size and they are studying why/how they still use that method.

Being informative is one part to let people know what was going on, but I feel like the biggest part of his “bitching” is actually being one of the larger voices pushing for right-to-repair and consumer protection. And with that came new bills/laws that even Apple and Google are backing.
His messages are/sound aggressive because they are. We need that passion to actually implement change.
The Road to El Dorado!
I really liked the atmosphere and world of Vesper, but the story was contrived and bland I felt.
I’ve seen District 9 mentioned as kind of biopunk, so maybe if that counts, I’d say that’s my favorite.
Not just that, but there are great feint/death animations when you win a battle!
I could 100% see the terriers in Age of Empires.
I am very happy they’re doing this since it allows for more build diversity.
That being said, nothing really stood out as a big change to me (probably because I suck at theorycrafting). I feel like the specializations, weapons, and skills are tied so close together to really get good synergy. For example sword really only works on holosmith since you need that specialization to get the bonus effects on the sword. I’m sure some niche builds will come out of it, but I feel like they need tweak some skills and core traits to really open up the build possibilities.
I feel like the lack of karma system will 100% help in this aspect. No reason to comment/post dumb things since you don’t really get anything with your post/comment is at the top.
I’m a bit surprised nobody mentioned the kernel-level anti-cheat, especially with Lemmy being a very security/privacy-centric place. That was implemented years after people spent money on the game and then basically stole the game/content unless you agreed to a huge change to the policy.
I stopped playing because they implemented that. There’s zero reason for that to ever be a thing in order to just play a game. Especially with the amount of machine-learning we have on what is and isn’t possible for humans to do, detection is completely possible server-side.
