I think the big problem wasn’t just the quantity, but the content. Every conversation felt like a character was just narrating their wiki bio to me, and not actually talking about anything current.

I’ve only seen the first episode, but so far I’m on board. The character animation is… Not great, and there was one scene I would swear they just dumped in a bunch of premade animation loops. However, the suits look awesome and the fights are interesting. Anytime a Zaku punts a tank I cheer, and the way the Gundam is portrayed was perfect.

I will never understand people who think this movie isn’t funny - endlessly quotable:

“That’s a lot of nuts!” “You should be able to beat him now!” “Beware his song about big butts, he beats you up while he plays it!”

I could go on. In a just world he would have gotten to make more films, and not just thumb parody movies.

For a while streamers were doing this thing where they would renew a show for Season 2 before the Season 1 pilot even released. I guess it was a way to project confidence to the audience?? Or maybe just to get the production pipeline moving so there wouldn’t be 2+ years in between season releases.

Anyway, they did that with Halo…

Back in 2000 I had no idea they were basically just speed running 10 years of OG Gundam stories. I also didn’t know that the things the characters said didn’t make any sense, I just assumed I was too dumb to get it.

The second half especially is a complete mess, but the power of nostalgia makes it a beautiful mess.

My dream scenario is having the map almost cleared, and then BAM there’s a sneak attack on Super Earth. We’re all suddenly fighting on a new tileset and have to push back from the center of the map.

From what I understand, it does not get kernel access on Linux. That’s why the game wouldn’t run the first couple of days. After they patched it, it just makes a web call and lets you play the game.

Oh yeah, making it an FPS was a weird choice. But that wasn’t a dig at the 1999 game, but at Red Eagle Entertainment, the group that announced and never made several video games over the years. Also responsible for the lousy attempt at adapting WoT as comics (which took 5 years to release 8 comics)… oh, AND the Winter Dragon TV pilot.

Music, video games, comics, the Canadian TV pilot… I don’t like the Amazon show, but at least it was actually you know, produced.

It’s also been great to see new affordable entry-level equipment become available. I had a friend finally get an espresso machine a few months ago, and I was able to point him to the Fellow Opus, which is only $195 ( and was on sale for $150).

To your point on “When to invest?” - there are certainly things this grinder could do better, but he has yet to hit a real problem in his coffee making. So sure, an $800 grinder might have fewer fines or more micro-adjustments, but that’s not really offering any value to him at the moment.

After the Helldivers 2 release Sony started talking about getting more aggressive with PC releases, so I think we’re going to see a lot less console only releases.

I’ve been pulling out my Aeropress more because my roaster keeps sending me tart, juicy roasts that do not work in milk drinks. I normally make espresso and a latte for my wife, but if I get something like this that I cannot make palatable for milk for the life of me, I’ll just brew it with the Aeropress. Otherwise, I’m stuck trying to have two espresso grinds dialed in.

I was hoping this was going to end with a call to help so I could then recommend Bunny Drop. Because the internet has poisoned my brain, so why not share the damage?

I do find it really funny that the Titans use Hizacks, and the AEUG uses Nemos. The idea that the Federation would just abandon all the design language of the GM and adopt a more powerful Zaku is very silly.

I get it’s a cartoon and bad guys gotta use the bad guy robots, but it still feels fourth wall-breaking.

I’m done giving developers a pass for not even putting in the minimum. Larian and Bethesda didn’t even put horses in their games because they’re so afraid of rendering the sack.

Everyone says Phantom Liberty will finally redeem Cyberpunk, so I can only assume CD Projekt has spent the past three years creating a perfect horse with the most dazzling balls we’ve ever seen. Can’t wait for those RTX and DLSS 3.5 rendered oysters.
