What a nice public service! It’s the little things that make cycling better.

Ooh, haven’t heard of this. I’ve been using a regular deodorant without anti perspiration the last few months and… it’s ok. But now that it’s getting hotter, I reach for the old aluminum stick if I have to go into the office.
I bought this (impulse buy, but on sale!) and we’ll see how it goes! My wife will tell me if it’s not working :)
Heck yeah I would love to never use the terminal. The terminal is the biggest roadblock for me adopting Linux. I never, ever want to open it. If I have to open it, Linux has failed for me as a windows replacement.
I want to try Linux again, and I have dipped my toes many times, but the terminal is the major block for me, a slightly above average pc user.
If you’re in the US, I have gotten good results/ seeds from ptlawnseed.com. They have a bunch of different options and tell you what works well in your climate zone!
Woah, this is really nice and cool. Was just browsing all on Lemmy and it showed up. I haven’t taken a dive into Linux, but I have dipped my toes in the last two decades, and dang it, I want to try it now.
The simplistic elegance that a nice theme can offer like this gives me peace and calm, and makes me feel welcome. Linux can be so intimidating, and many themes are harsh, this just makes the whole system seem approachable and friendly.
Looks fantastic, and saved for my future self!
He absolutely could break his contract. Many, if not all contracts, have exit clauses for both drivers and teams to separate. While we don’t know the details of the contracts and the clauses, they definitely exist.
I’d love to see max somewhere else just for the shakeup!
Nah we upgraded after a few years. But ME was a struggle! Had so many crashes in Diablo 2 and EverQuest. Thats all that mattered to me.
My parents bought a new mouse when I was a kid back in the early 2000s cause we had a crappy view sonic one that came with the pc. The new one was a Microsoft one and it didn’t work cause it needed xp and we had ME. Back to the viewsonic mouse it was for another 20 years until I bought them a Logitech wireless one on a pc I built for them a few years ago.
Wild how the cheap stuff works well for so many years!
Boeing could use them on their door plug nuts.
Man I want to block zerobytes.monster so badly
Really great take by Jay on Beau is afraid
I made the same wish. Oh how wrong I was.
I have tried many, many times in the past, and intend to try again in my next build this next summer. However, Linux just did not work for me.
Biggest issue for me is quite literally any use of terminal is too much use of terminal. If I have to open up terminal at all, windows immediately becomes the preferred OS. I don’t care how easy it is to copy / paste some lines of text that someone else wrote (I have no idea what those commands I’m pasting in do), I just do not ever want to open a terminal.
I have a steam deck too, and I somewhat enjoyed using it as a desktop with a dock. It seems to run fine! However, I have some issues with apps not updating and whatnot.
Also, there’s just the issue of learning a whole new os. I did it 5 years ago when I got a new job and it came with a MacBook, and now I honestly love Mac OS. Way better than windows imo, which is promising for me to like a Linux distribution as learning wasn’t so hard!
I found Caleb maybe a month back, and while I am not in the situations he is assisting people with, holy shit is this stuff needed. The USA has no financial literacy education, and poverty is a multigenerational vicious cycle for many various reasons.
Sadly, in many locations (especially Texas where he is based out of) a car is a necessity because of the lack of public transit. A car can quite literally be the difference in being stuck in a depressed town you grew up in or moving up in life. It shouldn’t be this way, but it currently is.
Curse of strahd can start at 3 if you skip the death house.
What a frustratingly unhelpful post. Reddit has been a website for over a decade and it’s apps existed just as long. Lemmy and memmy are extremely new and there just hasn’t been the time yet to create something super polished like Apollo. Everyone has to give it time, including the devs. They have lives and the same 24 hours a day we all do. Be patient. Shit will break, things will have to be backtracked… that’s the way progress works.
I too enjoy sadomasochism.
Seconding an elecom trackball. I use the deft pro personally, but wear medium sized gloves usually.
I like the space theme, but I think “Memmy” is a vessel to go between galaxies and planets in the fediverse. To keep with that, I would name it after a space craft or something. Perhaps Voyager?
So I just built myself a new computer, and I am running Nobara. So far, so good! I was wondering, how do I enable that biscuit theme? It looks like that Hyprland thing does not work for me. Sorry I am terribly a noob at Linux.
