I’m not talking about the use of the ATM by pressing buttons, I’m talking about the functions it serves. The functions that an ATM performs were once functions only a bank tellar did but we’re not against ATM because it was automates task for the better. Self checkout requires nothing but scanning a barcode for me (before self checkout, I bagged for myself and paid for myself; things I carried over).

My point being, ATM have been around long enough that we don’t even regard those task as labor anymore, which is okay and will be how self checkout looks. Bank tellars can focus on people who have other questions. Grocery workers can focus on stock, albiet most stores I go to still have checkout lanes open. The grocery owner will underpay and price gouge.

The task of the ATM used to solely be performed by bank tellars. Looking up accounts, checking balance, taking out the money, depositing checks, etc. It was all automated for self service, which is good as it frees up tellars responsibilities, but necessary labor before.

Just curious, how do you feel about ATMs for banking instead of the tellar? Although I agree labor is labor, freeing up a task for a cashier/grocery worker so they can focus on something else is a win. If I see a grocery cart far from the return stack, I’ll move it. That’s somebody’s job, but I don’t see it as free labor.

If I’m scanning groceries for somebody else then sure but if it’s just my own stuff, it’s not work. Take pumping gas, some locations do it for you but if I’m pumping it myself, I’m not doing work for fre.

I planned on getting back to running in September but I think I’m feeling good enough to start now but I’ll still ease back in. I also noticed my clothes fitting better eventhough I’ve been in a ±5lb yoyo for a few months. All in all I take it as a win

Yes! I read a lot of yuri and also some pretty spicy stuff so I’ll give a spice meter where X is a little amount and XXX is almost every chapter but still tasteful. I’ll also give some content warnings as I remember them, for some it’s been a while:

• Kakeochi girl: a yuri story on old friends who run into each other after a long time. (CW: abuse) X
• Honnou Switch: the childhood friend turned lovers troupe done right and they’re adults who know how to communicate XXX
• How do we relationship: two college lesbians figure they should just date each other out of convince and no, it’s not a good idea XX
• Helter Skelter: a take on the beauty industry and the outcome of plastic surgery (CW: body horror, ED)
• Eventhough we’re adults: a teacher spends a night out at a bar, gets hit on by another woman and goes home with her. But, the teacher didn’t mention she’s married. A very introspective series.
• Ladies on Top: a couple realizes that they don’t need to fit in gendered roles to have a good time together XX

and a good example of how many, if not all blanket complaints about manga and anime as an artforms go away when you start to stray into josei territory

Got a new standing desk but standing on the carpet hurts my knees. I plan on going back to dance this week, which I’m excited for. Still scared to weigh myself but I’ve been keeping up with light meals during the week and free for all during the weekend. I’m getting so used to the light style during the week that I don’t really need free for all weekends but I’m keeping it anyway 😤
