I wait for a Digital Foundry tech review before making a purchase on AAA game these days. They tackle what’s quantifiable and add their thoughts on the game in general which is about as much as I need from a professional outlet.
Lithography but also clients like Apple, Intel, AMD and so on. Without them they’re also toast. World today is so interconnected that at large scale it’s really hard not to be compliant with sanctions.
They could ignore sanctions but that would mean they’d be sanctioned as well. Pretty much every manufacturer and financial institution has to obey laws in multiple jurisdictions if they want to operate within those markets.
If you haven’t played them at the time they were released you are less likely to realise how far ahead of time they when it comes to various themes they covered. People notice this only after the thing Kojima predicted happens. Most recent and obvious example would be Death Stranding being released months before pandemic begun while the whole game is about a delivery man in a world where nobody can go outside. MGS2 was so far out when it comes to then upcoming intertwining politics and memes it requires at least an essay to properly describe. But when it clicks, it clicks.
You don’t get it. Because there’s less and less they need to squeeze them even further!

When preserving culture is criminal, or punishable, ya might want to reevaluate your laws
Or, don’t treat it like culture but slop to be consumed and discarded. If law is not there, put pressure on publishers to release games under licensing that allows preservation after predetermined amount of time. Maybe make slop ineligible for game awards and remove it from review aggregators. There are ways I’m sure.
…Who am I kidding, nobody is going to do because it would require too much cooperation and people are selfish.
It’s a perfect example of where we should hate the game rather than the player because those rules are not some uncontrollable force of nature but something that was set up by big tech.
By adding "site:reddit.com” to search results, users can hone their search to more easily find answers from real people.
I’m convinced that media that keep saying this are in cahoots with advertisers who have noticed this ages ago and have astroturfed Reddit beyond being reliable source of information since then.
It’s not that they’re for or against. They don’t care.
I think publishers were involved but those services are the lowest priority so I wouldn’t look into it that much.
This is based on a single Reddit post (including that BI report) by some anonymous person claiming to be an Audi driver. Audi drivers are not known for being very safety oriented*

Thanks. I usually use provided title but updated it slightly now.
…in China
According to The Register, Huawei currently has no plans to release HarmonyOS Next outside of China, at least for the foreseeable future.

Switch is going to release in 2025 but that’s fiscal year so April at the earliest. I get a feeling Nintendo is delaying because they don’t want to release in the middle of industry-wide slump.
