Seeing those references was very refreshing!
Flashback to when my sister in law had an electric car and felt compelled to plug it in at my place everytime she visited.
So what you’re saying is we need to open a Threads account and become Nazis?
As Moderator to !BestOf, this is my biggest fear. I’ve been working pretty extensively on this community in my spare time and I’m afraid that if the Moderators of r/BestOf decide to federate, we will lose. I’m not entirely nervous about fragmenting the community so much as just being r/LesserBestOf. By design, this community shouldn’t really be fragmentated unless we decide to become BestOf something specific.
Not sure what I expected, but yep… that’s a toaster.
I’ve been on Reddit for like 12 years and I was never banned by an admin. The fact that you got banned twice is sus.
I did get banned from blackpeopletwitter for being white.
It does help a lot. I believe I selected ‘Copy url to Fediverse’ while my peer @fishos used ‘copy url’ which works properly.
Thanks for the feedback. I honestly never realized it did that. I’ll try and figure out a way that doesn’t do this.
With Love,
Moderators of BestOf
Honestly, I think it’s important that people sub to all the same-subject communities across the Fediverse. However… the only time it’s really important to make the distinction is while creating a post. I hope we get the equivalent of ‘multireddits’ for all spaces with the same subject.
Trains can’t fly, gottem.
@lob I’m not sure what that means. I don’t see anything on my end.
I also noticed that any moderation doesn’t transfer between instances. I moderate @BestOf. I did remove one post for being irrelevant with the spirit of the community and it’s still there on Lemmy. I hope this is something that can be fixed.
I can’t wait to have some bots to provide us with some improvements!
I honestly think this community will probably take time to grow because there isn’t much best of content here yet. All of us need to focus on bringing content to the fediverse in general in order to improve that.
I know this, but part of me feels like this community will stop growing and stagnate if I’m not actively trying to prop it up. You’re right though, I need to calm down and just let the waves come and go.
In the meantime, it might work well to focus on the best, most well thought out or educational comments that we come across, as opposed to entire threads.
That’s a great point, but I think kbin might be lacking functionality at the moment. We need to be able to provide context when providing a link to a comment.
I know what I don’t want to see is reddit content being recycled here.
I can assure you the limited Reddit content we have is temporary. I’m being a bit relax on this rule because of the limited content we’re working with.
The Last Kingdom.
I can’t quite put my finger on it but the series really keeps me watching.
