You can change your homepage in settings to subscribed. So whenever you hit home it takes you to your subbed page. I keep on it All for now since so many magazines are empty but as the site fills out I will switch it to subbed.
unless cell cultured meats come in a big way or there is a drastic reduction for demand of meat, overuse of antibiotics in the meat industry will continue which will just keep driving antibiotic resistance in bacteria even further. I don’t really have faith in governments to regulate this (doing so would basically kill factory farming) so relying on new treatments is all I can suggest.
bacteoiphage treatments for super resistant bacteria will become standard in the coming decades.
Typically we break into smaller groups to play gta v or golf with your friends. But we have a valheim server we chill on and this week we all got really into battle bits
touchscreens becoming so good so quick blew my mind. Seeing how quick it went from clunky stylus palm pilots to fluid smartphones gave me whiplash.
maybe they really didn’t need to, a lot of subs caved at the first mention of replacing mods. Will be interesting to see if the remaining major subs will take a volley from the admins.
sad seeing how many of them folded straight away
I just tell people that each instance is like a country and users are able to move and interact with each other. Some countries revoke passport rights to/from other countries.
I think it’s okay if it doesn’t happen overnight. As long as the instances of the Verse get more developed and users remain engaged, more will come. Reddit will decay into Facebook lite and other forums will thrive.
there’s no pressure my dude, ultimately it’s just an internet forum. Everyone adding their own content, even shit posting, helps the verse get better. Don’t be afraid to start your own mag and spread your ideal. build and they shall come.
thanks for making this possible @ernest
As we approach July I think it’s best we stop focusing on Reddit. Just let it slowly drown and instead work on making this place the community we know it can be.
from what I understand… each instance is like a country and the Beehaw government just banned passports to/from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works. Citizens can hold dual citizenship but getting beehaw citizenship will have higher requirements. kbin is also open sign-up but not banned because it’s users are more chill for some reason.
some of the first posts i see on kbin from other instances are about a major defederation lol. not ideal since this is happening when the fediverse is growing… but I suppose this is the intent behind the fediverse.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Create whatever magazines you want to see flourish early. Even if you don’t want to get stuck moderating it, I’m sure eventually those who were committed from Reddit will reach out.
so long as young people generally don’t care to vote, people who have no stake in the future will be the only choices.
