At least it’s not airsoft this time.
I’m more and more convinced that the broader regional war (and that’s what I’m going to call it for lack of any better term) is really about Israel desperately trying to goad its’ adversaries into launching a large-scale attack that would give America the excuse to come swooping in en masse. I think Israel’s adversaries are frantically trying to figure out the balance of “fast enough to save the Palestinians and shock the Israeli economy into collapsing” agaainst “slow enough not to panic America”.
My theory is that the NATO MIC is treating the war like a lab experiment. They give Ukraine a handful of export versions of all sorts of different hardware, then see how the Russian military takes them out for their own R&D purposes.
I’m wondering if the traditional tank is just plain obsolete in the age of drones.
Okay, now the people running the simulation I live in are just getting bored.
Looking throught the changes, it seems all this isn’t quite as awful as it sounds at first. It’s more about requiring that apps-that-install-apps use the purpose-built API to do it, which was designed so that alternative app stores would be able to do things like easy installs, automatic updates, those sorts of things. I’d like to hear from the F-Droid folks give their thoughts on this.
I’ve been enjoying watching Yemen teach some American sailors the difference between a job and an adventure.
Sounds like he was trying to get CIA backing for his mercenary business venture.
The societal effect of all these missile warnings over the past year, especially the impact to the domestic economy, must be devastating. It’s hard for a workplace full of people to get anything done when they’ve been up most of the prior night sheltering.
Some of, if not the, largest oil reserves on the planet, and it’s not being put towards making American oil company owners wealthier. Of course the US will never get over Venezuela.
In your opinion could this potentially be reasonable given the cost of living there?
I’ve sometimes wondered if elected officials actually ought to be paid much more than they typically are in western governmental systems. I don’t know if it would discourage bribes because the politician wouldn’t be short of legitimate cash, or if it would just make the politician look for bigger bribes as they get used to a life of comfort.
Whatever happens, you need to live with the consequences that it’s all your fault.
Taking a short break from german news to bring UK news, apparently you gotta pay 11 quid next year to get a permit to enter the country.
The paranoiac in me is wondering if this is a way to link border controls with an individual’s internal movements via linking the payment method for the fee and record of purchases inside the country using that method.
For a group so obsessed with the past as the right wing of Ukraine’s society is, they don’t seem to have learned much from it. Annihilating overconfident fascists at Kursk isn’t just a job for the Russian soul - it’s a passion.

The Sept. 11 general megathread should be about controlled demolitions.
I’m on your side on this. Usually when I’m grocery shopping it’s at the end of a long day, and I just don’t want to deal with other people in any capacity at that point.
No awkward small talk
Oh god so much this. Especially from other people in line. There’s something about my face that seems to invite conversations from strangers. I have no idea what it is. And it’s always the last thing I have any interest in doing. Especially when they’re offering recipe advice. Self checkouts are a godsend.
Yeah, the CNSA logo is pretty dope.
