Ah OK, language doesn’t show up there either. I suppose this might have something to do with the current version of Jerboa I’m on, I haven’t updated it to the newest yet. Will try, thanks a lot for your help!

Did it work for you? I’m on Android 13 too but I can’t select Jerboa since it doesn’t show up. I also used the search function but no success.
I noticed the same thing after the last update. I would also prefer English as the interface language. Before the update everything was in English and now I have a mix of German and English. I already selected English as the interface language on the website but it didn’t change the ones in the app. In the app itself I haven’t found any settings regarding this. I’m sure this is because my device language is German.
How cool is that! Looks indeed very good!
I really don’t understand why people don’t trust experts anymore and go full on dunning kruger. Or maybe we see them more today because they now are all over the internet (and sadly in politics) and proudly present their wrong claims on social media. We can be glad that the problem with the ozone layer was many years ago. Otherwise we wouldn’t get that solved today either. Same with climate change or vaccines.
I noticed that, too. Would be very sad if they just claim the community and don’t really intend to do anything with it or hope that others will bring it to live. We will see how this pans out.
Yes that’s true and I’m sure it isn’t that bad. I just don’t like the way they are trying to force their browser on everyone which is why I try to avoid Edge as much as possible. It’s kind of a personal principle now. Microsoft likely doesn’t care about that though since, as you said, they are successful with that technique.
This definitely has some Microsoft Edge vibes to me.
Same. I’ll definitely stay here.
I really hope that won’t be the case. So far I like Lemmy and the vibe here a lot and am not afraid to comment somewhere which was the case on Reddit. I hope it stays that way, guess we’ll see that after the blackout.
I’m not in the community and I don’t get it either. Why can’t people just let other people be themselves (if they don’t hurt anyone of course and aren’t mean and such)? I’m so sorry that you feel this way because you shouldn’t have to for just being you. I do my best and point people out if they use hateful language and why that’s hurtful to someone.
It’s a first for me. I wanted to join Mastodon but didn’t know what instance to choose and was generally confused about how everything works so I didn’t create an account. With Lemmy it was different since I really wanted to join. So I took my time to figure everything out and it is way less complicated than I initially thought. But I get why it might seem confusing at first, especially subscribing to communities on different servers.
Same. I think this might also be one of the reasons people join larger instances (besides not knowing where to go). At least it was like that for me. I really hope we see that feature sooner than later. Maybe I’ll try setting up my own instance when I have enough time to figure out how that works.
Love that song! I always have to think about the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland when listening to it.
Would be really cool! Until then I enjoy Lemmy as it is. I’m happy to have found this place including the awesome community here.
I also wouldn’t want them merged. But I would find it great if I could kind of curate my own “front pages”. E.g. creating a page for myself called “Technology” and adding all the tech communities that I follow to it so that I can see all posts in one place.
I feel you. On Reddit I was always afraid to get 1000 of comments telling me I’m stupid or how could I do xyz. I really like it here on Lemmy, everyone is just so welcoming and not at all mad that so many of us (former) Redditors are joining.
I already deleted all my comments and posts and when the time comes and RIF is down I’ll delete my whole account.
For me it definitely is the energy between the band and the crowd and how the band engages with the crowd. I don’t like it when the band just plays their songs without interacting. It also is the crowd for me itself. I’ve seen Flogging Molly a few times and everybody just seems so happy to be there, enjoying the show and looking out for each other. It’s just a whole other vibe.
