I’m just more curious than anything, but why do you have the boiler set for 4 degrees above boiling?

That’s a beautiful looking machine, I can see why you’d want to get that! I still don’t know which machine I’m going to get, thought I think I want to start with something like the flair 58 and maybe a nanofoamer.
Chemex is still one of my favorites. You first enjoy a meal or drink with your eyes, and the Chemex is easily my most beautiful piece of coffee hardware. I just love the classic look of it.
Yeah, I watched this video recently and it has me leaning towards the Varia Aku.
I would highly recommend taking a peak at James Hoffmann’s method. I feel it has been the most efficient method in removing that sludge at the bottom of the cup.
Definitely a bit jealous.
I haven’t quite gotten into espresso, but when I do I think I will go entirely manual to start. I already have a JX Pro, which should be serviceable to grind espresso. Then I’m thinking of getting the Flair. I need a smaller scale to fit the flair, so I was considering the Lunar, but it sure is pricey.
I love the precision down to that 0.3 lol
Absolutely wonderful setup you have there. What scale do you use when pulling your shot, and what is your final output?
Sometimes the simplest is the most delicious.
Sounds like anaerobic fermentation! I have had some seriously funky and delicious beans that went through that process. I even saw one that did the same, but introduced peaches into the fermentation to attempt to impart some of that flavor as well.

Free speech is speech that is protected from government regulation or persecution. This is a private platform, and therefore Nazis and their speech can fuck right off.
So yeah, they are absolutely to spew their hateful speech without legal repercussions, but we absolutely do not have to let them do so here.
So I love it so far, but when switching to the true black AMOLED setting, a lot of the buttons stay that gray color. Not sure if intended or missed.
I definitely enjoy cold brew, especially during summer, but it generally pretty muted in flavor compared to a pourover or French press. I usually make it when I get a bag of beans that I am a bit disappointed with, as a lot of the underlying tasting notes aren’t as present in cold brew and it still allows me to enjoy the coffee.
I mean, heck, I want to get some whip cream canisters and nitrogen canisters to make my own nitro cold brew as another coffee project.
I definitely wanna buy some metal filters for v60. I love the full body you get with French press, and it’s not really replicable elsewhere.
I’m running suuuuuper low on my Stagg filters and v60 filters, so probably going to be going back to my chemex for the next couple of weeks.
But Stagg has definitely been some fun.
Hey man, sometimes you just need that bittrr punch of caffeine. Ain’t nothing wrong with that.
I just watched a video on the Orea from, I think it was Aramse. Interesting little brewer that I think will be my next unnecessary gear purchase.
Similar for me, but with Relay. I absolutely refuse to use the shitshow that is the official app. And honestly, I’ve been actively choosing to use Reddit less and less.
French Press was my entry into truly good coffee, and it’s still one that I love to go back to.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! If you are looking for a suggestion, I have the Fellow Clara. It’s a bit pricey, but it has been absolutely awesome.
I honestly just love Fellow products, I have yet to be disappointed by anything they’ve made. To be fair though, I know many have been dissatisfied with their Carter line of travel mugs, as many have gotten a roasted garlic smell in the mug that they can’t get rid of. But I’ve currently got 4 of them, and haven’t experienced it once.
