Cross stitcher, knitter, crocheter, newbie sewer (sewist?). Multicrafter extraordinaire! Have a YouTube channel I’ll never not feel awkward about.
She/her, ND, reluctantly British, probably some other things I’ve forgotten to list.
All over the Fediverse like a rash, no regrets.
@LemmyFeed @CrimeDad oddlysatisfying material right there, great work OP!
@aubrianne @discworld I suppose it would be a bit…Diamanda. Nobody wants to be a Diamanda.
@aubrianne @discworld No fair you started a day early!
@Timecircleline Oh that is cool! I’ve actually never tried double knitting so can’t advise there, but all I’ll say is a month ago you probably didn’t think socks would be so easy either…
@ShinyBlueThing @discworld This is the greatest thing
@bitflipped @discworld That sounds like making stuff to me!
@just_chill @discworld Perfect, thank you!
@annascrafts @discworld Reading your first DW book should totally count for the makealong somehow.
You’d be making…um…treasured literary memories? 😅
@discworld My personal plan is a pair of Eskarina Socks (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/eskarina-socks) and a cross stitched Errol (https://www.ebay.com/itm/122196806696)
But am admittedly rethinking my self-imposed “no shawls” rule due to this https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lady-margolatta 🤔
@weirdsquid Pretty sure if you can’t see it that means it was a success, so thanks! 😆
@weirdsquid I’d love to claim that the button band thing was on purpose! Ideally the pumpkins wouldn’t be quite so “on the boobs” but needs must when you have the minimum fabric I suppose.
But the pattern matching on the pocket definitely *was* on purpose, and I’m proud of that part 😂
We’ll be doing our annual Spooktacular movie marathon tomorrow so naturally it needed to be ready by then!
@constantokra @meggied90 Oh my god how have I never thought to do this
@meggied90 Toe-up gang for life! Except for all the times I knit top-down, of course 😂
(also these first ones that I hated were toe-up, so that put me off for a while, but I came back around lol)
@just_chill Ooh it’s gorgeous. Almost seems like it could be a coat at first glance!
The best thing about fabrics like this is that any weird creases or anything mostly get hidden by the print anyway, so no harm no foul 😁
@MrsDoyle Thank you! Not the sort of thing I’ll get a ton of wear from at home, but then again it was only 50p 😆
@papalonian Thank you! 🥰
@jkirkendall @knitting Feeling pretty left out and somewhat peer pressured by everyone learning this lately, but sometimes peer pressure is a good thing 😁
Congrats!
