Toxic work environment; misleading benchmark & product reviews.
I have no longer watched their content since the scandal.
Word! I feel active learning and feeding off one’s brain curiosity diminished for younger folx.
With that comes laziness to “set things up”. “OMG, it’s too complicated for me. I’m having a headache. I can’t, I just can’t.”
Trash culture, TikTok and the likes. The gen z folx I know don’t seem to prioritize privacy and quality content. Some know it and don’t seem to care even after getting hacked/scammed.
Living vicariously through influencers, likes, and whatnot. Being cool, blending in…
While he’s eating McDonald’s and watching TV in his “cell”?
I second that. It’s overwhelming.
Hilarious.
I sometimes block them within the app. I use Liftoff.
Kudos to you for demonstrating interest in getting to know whoever you cross on these platforms (a rarity these days…) 🙌🏽
I relate to your discomfort. I usually unmatch or block such vibes bc the point of these apps is to date, which implies getting to know each other. If one is unwilling to put in the work (as minimal as it may seem), just spare folx who are interested in the above.
So much has changed in the dating scene. Sometimes, I am asked why I am being nosy or psychoanalyzing them. 🙄 Dude, you’re on a dating app, right?
P.S.: I respect boundaries, but such questions are essential in familiarizing oneself with someone.
Thank you!
As a newb to Fediverse, I agree because it is ambiguous how to use one account for several instances. I’ve browsed the web for several hours. But I only found out that the above is not a one-size-fits-all because some instances require registration.
Also, saying that an account can be created to access communities in my experience, implies I can only see and minimally interact on those instances. But I cannot go as far as posting anything because as I previously stated, I need an account on the said instance to do that.
I see the Fediverse being an umbrella of apps/services. However, from my experience, they’re not synchronized. More like silos.
Let’s keep the momentum. I find Reddit overwhelming.
As others have pointed out, I am content with Lemmy being a niche app with engaged users.
I don’t think it’ll become mainstream and doesn’t have to be. Also, I believe folx are becoming more mindful of their digital privacy. The latter will continue to grow. And that is the new trend.
Technocrats are becoming less irrelevant as well because tech advancements expose their data mining trends and their sole purpose with their “products” is profit no matter the cost (often at our detriments).
