What steps do you, personally, take to protect yourself against that from literally any device you use that has an internet connection?
I manually go through my computers and remove data harvesting bloatware with command prompt. I cover my cameras with tape when not in use. I use open source privacy focused applications. I drive an older car with no internet functionality. Bluetooth stays off 24/7. Phone (an older model) stays in airplane mode when not in use. All privacy settings are set to the best possible configurations. I avoid large chain stores that conduct heavy surveillance and shop locally instead. I use cash when possible.
