My process so far has been: Use browse.feddit.de to search for a community, or stumble across a link to one posted somewhere. Copy the link to it and go to lemmy.one/search (presumably you can substitute your own instance before the /), and paste it into the search field. Click on the result, then click “sidebar” and “subscribe”. It’s clunky, but so far it has worked.
